Mali: Law No. 2018-003 of January 12, 2018 on Human Rights Defenders

On January 12, 2018, the Malian government adopted Law No. 2018-003 on human rights defenders (HRDs or defenders). The law formulates rights and freedoms of human rights defenders, the duties of defenders and the duties of the state to protect defenders. The law includes a specific mention of women human rights defenders, as well as human rights defenders with a disability.
