Status: adopted national law or policy
Since 2019, Ecuador has a public policy in place for the protection of human rights defenders. The first policy introduced by the Ecuadorian Ombudsman’s Office introduced Resolution No. 043-DPE-DD-2019 regarding the protection of Human Rights Defenders. Soon after, however, this resolution was replaced by Resolution 077, available below.
