Georgia: National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights in Georgia for 2014-2020

In April 2014, the Georgian Parliament approved the National Human Rights Strategy 2014-2020 for the protection of human rights defenders.
The Strategy sets the focus on three primary objectives:
(1) consistency of legislative/institutional frameworks with the development strategy, as well as any requirements stipulated in the Action Plan;
(2) conduct broad public awareness campaigns on human rights and the means to realize them in practice;
(3) regular presentation of the positive and negative obligations of all government representatives and public bodies with respect to human rights.
